Fantastic opportunity to join this global financial brand, based in Surrey / South London, as a Content Strategy Lead. My client is looking for an experienced and highly motivated content professional to help take their content strategy to the next level.
You will lead a team of content strategists working on the UK websites, taking a lead role in progressing the digital content and SEO strategy agenda and embed innovative content ideas.
You will be expected to deliver the best possible content experience to users of the websites.
You will be seasoned in the world of large organisations (web and mobile). You should have experience coaching and managing other content strategists, and have experience managing stakeholders with diplomacy while pushing your agenda to create the best, most intuitive and consistent content experience for users.

You should have experience coaching and managing other content strategists, and have experience managing stakeholders with diplomacy while pushing your agenda to create the best, most intuitive and consistent content experience for users.
Essential skills and experience:
- Strong experience in content strategy and team coaching
- Proven experience in writing and developing content strategy and governance, ideally for UK financial services
- Background in writing and editing in B2C and B2B environments, either as a journalist or a copywriter
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of influencing and motivating others at a senior level to achieve results and exceed targets
- Ability to communicate complex and emotive topics to different audiences through a range of data, written and verbal methods
- Experience in managing and implementing SEO strategy
- Excellent stakeholder and influencing skills, including communication, negotiation of deadlines and requirements, management of expectation, recommendations, quality of outputs etc.
- Competency with information architecture and user experience best practices
- Good working knowledge of content management systems (CMS), with an understanding of the architectural considerations of content
- Confident presentation and communication skills to champion the benefits and logistics of project deliverables and timelines
- Experience of working harmoniously with technology, marketing and businesses teams to align around creating and implementing digital standards
- Creativity, curiosity, optimism, sense of enthusiasm, demonstrates a positive can-do attitude
Key responsibilities
- Define content requirements and create content for website, email and other journeys that you’ll help define and implement based on competitive research, customers and subject matter experts
- Work with product owners, UX designers and developers to design content for user journeys in the apps that people use to manage over £500billion of investments
- Work with colleagues in the digital design/UX/content team to ensure that content is always tuned to the needs of the user, the task the user is trying to complete, and the mind-set the user is in while completing that task.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure that content meets legal, compliance, accessibility, and other requirements beyond pure quality, style and tone; take the initiative to engage and coordinate peer reviews.
- Optimise current content to meet KPIs
- Ensure consistency and compliance with the style guide and tone of voice guidelines, and that all content is created to exceptionally high standards, with consistency of language and terminology across channels
- Manage multiple stakeholders and voices across the organisation – from customer services to compliance and balance sometimes competing demands to achieve the best outcomes for the project.
