Head of Direct Marketing – Charity – London – c£45,000
Marketing Talent is pleased to be supporting this medical research charity with their search for a Head of Direct Marketing. As a pivotal member of the Fundraising Senior Management Team you will ensuring that Direct Marketing is integrated into the overall Fundraising Strategy; that all associated income streams are given appropriate direction and support to achieve their objectives; and that Direct Marketing plays an appropriate role in supporting and promoting the wider organisational objectives.
Person spec:
· Knowledge of the whole direct marketing mix including significant digital experience
· Ability to challenge the accepted way of doing things, generate ideas and opportunities and drive forward their implementation
· Marketing or direct marketing qualification or equivalent experience
Key responsibilities:
· Ability to think and act strategically, to grow income
· Sound planning and co-ordination skills to ensure a range of different projects and topics can be delivered successfully simultaneously
· Ability to challenge the accepted way of doing things, generate ideas and opportunities and drive forward their implementation
· Influencing skills and personal presence
· Ability to write powerful and emotive copy and encourage this in others
· Significant experience in a direct marketing function, with an in-depth understanding of consumer insight
· Experience of database targeting, segmentation, testing and response analysis
· Planning, managing and evaluating successful marketing communications
· Leading, managing and motivating a team through growth and change
